Everything About Me

You’ve been feeling rather under the weather lately and were at home sick all day trying to sleep it off.  By the afternoon, you’re feeling a fair bit better and decide it might do you good to go out for a walk to stretch the legs and get your blood flowing.  As it happens, there’s a football game going on in the trading center so you head to town to check it out for a bit.

As you’re walking into town, a gentleman comes up and introduces himself, asking your name and telling you his.  You’re not sure if you’ve seen him around before, so when he asks if you have football back in Canada you’re a little confused as to how he knows where you’re from.  But word spreads about the one white guy in town so you explain the difference between soccer and Canadian football and try not to be too creeped out.

As you get closer to the football pitch, you pass by a woman who you’re sure you haven’t met before, but greet her with the usual “Matandala?”  You exchange greetings and head on your way.  Remember, you’ve only been sick since this morning and have been at home resting for the entire day.  But as you walk away, she says as you go, “I hope your cough gets better soon.”  You make a mental note to be much more careful with everything you do or say since everyone apparently knows everything about you…
